Sophie - 11/30/2016

Sophie had bites of biscuit and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of baked beans, no dinner roll, ate peas, and a large serving of crushed pineapple.  Sophie loves to be the big helper at meal times and get bibs for the other kids.  Hudson will usually (well sometimes at least, ha!) stand still for her to put on his bib.  Here's a picture at breakfast this morning and Sophie was trying to catch up to Avilene.  Haha!  Good luck with that Sophie!  She was also concerned about Avi losing a shoe, but she gave up trying to get that on Avi's foot!  :)   (She never did catch up to Avi with the bib!)

Have a great trip and nice time in Boston.  I've determined that Sophie is mostly looking forward to watching "Zootopia" on the plane ride!  Ha!  "Watch Zootopia on iPad!"  About half way through the morning she told me you're all going "to the lake tomorrow, not Boston."  :)

Sophie sneezed like 9 or 10 times this morning.  I was snickering and when she was done she tried SO hard to sneeze again to keep me laughing!  Ha!

The kids were having a blast playing on the mattress; jumping and bouncing.  They stopped and started studying the alphabet poster.  I took this picture when Sophie was pointing out the "H" to Hudson and telling him, "this is your letter Bubba!"  She also pointed out the "A" for Avilene, but Avi is not yet interested!  Then she showed Hudson the "S" for Sophie, but gave him strict instructions NOT to point at her "S."  Wow!  A bit possessive!  LOL!!  Cracked me up!!

Sophie - 11/29/2016

I had a wonderful time in Louisiana visiting my daughter, her husband, and their extended family.  First time I've worn shorts and T-shirt for Thanksgiving!  I have to post this picture of me standing in front of this incredible oak tree in Lake Charles.  I saw a possum, ate some delicious alligator sausage, and navigated traffic to find my way through Houston, so I consider it all a huge success!  It's always special to come home to lots of hugs and loves from my Little Treasures!

Sophie ate a bite of waffle and two servings of hash browns for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken & cheese quesadilla, half of carrots, and three servings of mandarin oranges.

The side pocket on the chair that you see in the picture below was the bed for her baby.  "Baby Hazel."  That was a new one and it took me 3 or 4 tries to figure out she was saying, "Baby Hazel." Ha.  I asked her where she put her hair clip.  She said, "In baby's bed."  And then I took the picture below as she searched for it and found it.

Here's a new idea for you!  Wine in a Cone!  Sophie said, "This is wine.  You wanna have it with me?"  Ha!

I said, "Hey Hofie Hanks!"  That's Reid's name for her, but we were not talking about Reid or she hadn't asked about him for quite awhile!!  She thought about what I called her and said, "Where's Reid?"  So cute.  Well his Mommy starts a new job on Monday the 5th so you'll be seeing lots of him Sophie.  Also, I was taking Sophie potty this morning and when we left the play room she said, "You in charge Bubba!"  LOL!!  She obviously thinks she's in charge and can appoint her successor when she leaves the room.  :)

Sophie - 11/22/2016

Sophie ate most of jelly toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate rice, bean, and chicken burrito, sweet potatoes, and two servings of tropical fruit.

Morning reading before breakfast with Lauralea and Bubba.

When Sophie and Hudson started playing together this morning Sophie said, "Me and Bubba are headed home."  Oh really?!  How come?  "We're sick.  Go home, go to bed, take a bath."  :)  Then Sophie arranged the yellow benches like you see in the picture below and that was their "car."  Just briefly, then it was their "airplane."  I asked if they were in their car and Sophie said, "No, this airplane."  I like how casual she's being - sitting with her leg crossed over.  She then added, "Going to zoo on airplane."  In the connected photo you can see all the loot that Sophie and Hudson accumulated for their trip.  Avi found their stash of toys.  Her idea of playing with the toys was to simply pitch them out of there.  Sophie came back and protested the intruder, but I told her it was "free range" when you move on to something else!  :)

Sophie says and does some of the cutest things!  From the picture below: "Night night everybody! I'm in my bed."  (Covered with my pillow.)
She was building with the big blocks and every time she put one on the stack she said, "Incoming, incoming!"  (That's from Reid and Cooper.)
Also while building she asked me to help her build a house; "Can you help me build a house uhhh Dad, uhhh Mom, uhhh Bub (short for Bubba I guess - Ha), uhhh Gary!?
She was singing "Old McDonald" and I joined in the singing!  Not appreciated!  "Don't sing with me!"  Hahaha!!
"My Baby over there playing."  What does your Baby like to do?  "Walk Walk on my lap."  (One of Sophie and Lauralea's favorite songs.)
She pointed at Deegan yesterday afternoon across the street and then pointed at her own head and said, "Orange head."  His hair is very bright!!  (Naturally!  Not dyed!  Ha!)

Sophie - 11/21/2016

Sophie ate half of kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham sandwich, peas, and two servings of mandarin oranges.

First, I want to just remind everyone that Little Treasures is closed Wednesday - Friday for Thanksgiving this week.  Also, Lauralea will be covering for me on Monday the 28th.  There will be no Blogs on Monday and I'll resume the Blogs on Tuesday.  I'm so looking forward to seeing my daughter in Louisiana this week!!  :)

Sophie and Hudson were at the window waving bye to Daddy Pat.  Sophie looked at Bubba waving and said, "I use 2 hands!"  And she started waving with 2 hands.  Then she decided he needed to use 2 hands and grabbed his other hand and started waving it as well.  Hmm...that was the beginning of a morning where those two were trying to "frequently interfere" with the other one!!  :)

Sophie was spreading a blanket out on the floor to wrap up her baby.  She snapped the blanket in the air and laid it down....not quite laying right....repeat...not right....repeat....You get the idea.  Hudson was standing there watching all this.  She yelled "NO" at him a couple of times...I guess to warn him not to get any ideas because he was doing nothing but watching!  :)  She got her blanket laid out just right, but she'd left the doll several feet behind her.  She wasn't about to turn her back on Bubba (who was still doing nothing but watching) and she crawled on her hands and knees backwards to retrieve her baby; never taking her eyes off Hudson.   LOL  I had to laugh at that one!!

This is a picture of one of Sophie's favorite daily activities.  Going to get Baby Nora when she wakes from her nap.  It's pretty cute because Nora always has the hugest smile for everyone after nap.

Here's the story behind the 2nd picture:  Sophie and Hudson had been playing in the "igloo" and they had blankets and dolls in there.  Sophie said they were all taking a "nap."  Hudson had left the igloo, but Sophie was dragging another blanket in.  And Avi viewed that as the perfect opportunity to "step" on the blanket.  So she did.  When I took this picture Sophie kept saying, "Avi!!  Avi!!  Avi!!"  Avi; "chuckle chuckle chuckle."  Sophie; "Aaavvveeeeee!!"  Avi; "chuckle chuckle chuckle."

Sophie - 11/17/2013

Sophie will have a short Blog today (arrived at 11:00), but she did say a couple of REALLY funny things I have to share!  For lunch she ate bite of baked chicken, no dinner roll, ate large serving of hash browns, and two servings of canned cherries.  I'm always saying to her, "you're the cutest thing ever."  At lunch I asked her, "Are you the cutest thing since sliced bread."  (I know, it makes NO sense! Ha!)  Sophie was immediately offended!!  "NO!  EVER!!"  LOL!  I laughed so hard and she just sat there grinning at me.  Which made it even funnier!

I'm including this picture of Bubba and Avilene standing at the window to give you a reference for this next note.  If you ever look closely at the wooden frame around the window and sill you'll see the evidence of years of little people chewing on it!!  Yesterday afternoon Hudson was apparently chewing on it too because Sophie yelled at him, "Don't eat it Bubba!!  Just lick it!!  Don't eat it!!"  Hahaha!!

Sophie informed me that "My Dad Loves Football."  Oh really?  So then she asked me, "Do you love football?"  Well I really like the game!!  :)  Go Griz!  Beat the Cats!  I said, "Those stinking Cats!" Again she was somewhat offended.  "I like cats."  Ha!

Sophie - 11/16/2016

Sophie ate bites of bagel and ate her peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her ham, ate a large serving of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate corn, and bites of apple.  At lunch I told Sophie she was as sweet as chocolate chip cookie.  She said, "I no like chocolate chip; I like raisin oatmeal."  Ha! Then moments later she just randomly said, "Dragon Hollow scary!!"  Oh really, why?  "That boy at Dragon Hollow."

Well, what we suspected has been confirmed!!  Hudson's head is harder than Sophie's.  They were playing on the mattress and smacked their foreheads together!  OUCH!!  Poor Sophie started howling and Bubba just sat there looking at her while rubbing his own forehead.

I know I've mentioned this before, but Sophie continues to talk about Bode.  (Reid's brother)  Everyday we watch for Kenzie and Riley after school.  Bode walks with them and when Sophie sees them she always mentions Bode first.  "There's Bode!"  Then this morning she looked at the "SB" on the lid of her cup and said, "B for Bode."  Aww....

She was counting several times this morning.  She does 1 - 13, then 15, 17, 18.  So I was working with her to see if she could do one-to-one correspondence counting.  And she is starting to get it.

I like this picture of Avi watching Sophie put on dress-up clothes and pulling the hat down over her eyes.

We did some more dot painting at Art Time today - Hudson and Sophie were the 2 "big kids" painting.  Ha!  They did quite a bit of painting until I shut it down when they (Sophie in the lead) started "squeezing" the bottles and puddling the paint on their paper.  Ha!!  That's very creative, but it's pouring out!!

Sophie - 11/15/2016

Sophie ate most of whole grain waffle and two servings of pears for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tuna and half of crackers, ate sweet potatoes, and two servings of mandarin oranges.  She put on her bib and was preparing to wash for breakfast when I took this picture.  I told her to put her bib on the right way and she said, "That my pack pack!"  At lunch she had her bib twisted and because she was tired it was frustrating her so I fixed it.  She said, "It not listen to me!!!"  :)

The shelves were empty when Sophie started working there.  (In picture below)  She said, "I'm getting ready."  For what? "Nap time."  (It was 8:45am)  She moved in stuffed animals, dolls, blankets, pillows, books, pianos, dress-up clothes, and more.  She was working very hard.  Who's taking a nap?  "I am.  And Bubba.  And Avi."  Well now you've got it so full there is not even room for one kid!  So she was just laying her head on the shelf!  Haha!

Sophie is talking so much!!  Continually!!  Ha!  Here are some quotes from this morning:
She was on the phone; "Uhhh I'm at Gary's."  Who are you talking to?  First it was "Missy" and then it was "Lesley."
She put on some rain boots and said, "I'm not leaving."
Then she talked about going to a "meeting" and said, "Daddy do it.  I do bath time...after dinner."
Fixing some food: "I fix dinner for You, Bubba, Avi, Me, and Daddy....almost ready.  You want butter?"  LOL!  What are we having?  "Ice Cream and Bread."  She did have the barbecue FULL of ice cream cones!

Sophie - 11/14/2016

Sophie ate most of chex cereal and ate two servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork sandwich, two servings of tomato soup, and ate pickled beets.  She loves those pickled beets.  I was telling her at breakfast time about seeing Kim in her store on Saturday.  Sophie thought about that for a moment or two and asked, "You and Lauralea were at Kim's store?!?"  Yup.  :)  We finally saw that great mouse display!!

I got a kick out of listening to Reid explain to Sophie his and Bode's sleeping arrangement in their bedroom.  They have bunk beds.  "Bode heep (sleep) on top.  I heep (sleep) on bottom."  Sophie asked, "You sleep on bottom?"  "Yes." Sophie; "Hmmm....ok."  :)

I have no idea what this was about, but Sophie was just walking across the room this morning and said, "I am a dirty fox."  LOL  It hit my funny bone!!  Maybe a movie, game, something that I'm not aware of, but it was as cute as can be.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and Sophie headed straight for the books as soon as she got here.  Her 2nd stop was at the dress-up clothes.  As you can see in the picture below she has on quite the ensemble.  She asked for help with the vest, but did all the rest herself.  A bit later she had some rubber boots on her hands as well and said, "These are my mittens."  :)

This food set has ice cream cones and then lots of "flavors" to put on the cones.  I took this picture when Hudson and Sophie were just stacking all the flavors in a pile.  Sophie also played with the phones and brought one to me grinning and saying, "It Lauralea."  And of course then it was "Mommy, Daddy, Nora, Sula."  And another name that I didn't recognize - which didn't impress Sophie!!  Ha!

Sophie - 11/11/2016

Sophie ate bites of oatmeal and sniffed a dried plum for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of hash brown casserole, bites of biscuit, and two servings of mandarin oranges.

There is no school today and so Kenzie is here with us all day.  (Riley is with Cooper at his Pre- School.)  I took these first three pictures of Sophie with Kenzie so you'd see how Kenzie was helping out with Sophie.  (Kenzie is totally a veteran of being a big sister!!)  1st picture: Kenzie brought several of her own books and she loves reading to the kids.  (She's learning to read very quickly and efficiently!)  2nd picture: Kenzie also brought her Kindle and Sophie was thrilled to see pieces of Zootopia.  3rd picture: I like how Kenzie is keeping a watchful eye on Sophie doing some golfball painting at Art Time.  And those two cleaned up the art area when they were done.  Kenzie put the paint bottles on the shelf and Sophie carried them over to her.

I love this picture of Sophie playing with the toaster because she was saying to Kenzie, "Watch this Kenzie!" and Sophie didn't even watch the pancake flying.  (You see the pancake flying, right!?  Ha!) I showed Kenzie this picture and she said, "That's a keeper!!"  Hudson was also watching this and laughing.  He loves the toasters too.

Sophie - 11/10/2016

Due to KinderMusic I'm not doing a Blog for Sophie today, but I wanted to tell you that she has been going potty in the toilet the last two days.  Yesterday her diaper was dry after nap and she kept it dry the rest of the day.  So it's a great start in the process!

Sophie - 11/9/2016

Sophie had bites of whole wheat toast and a large serving of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, half of crackers, ate bean & bacon soup, and mangoes.  At breakfast she was essentially done and said, "See Gary; I made a little house."  (with her grapes)  Yup, I see that.  You're done eating and playing now.  "I not playing."  :)

Lauralea fixed Sophie's hair this morning and then was massaging Sophie's feet.  Sophie kind of had  this dreamy look on her face and said, "I liiiiiiike it when you massage my foot."  Ha.  It's so cool how well Sophie is communicating.  She says some really funny and cute things.  She said, "I laugh my head off!"  Then she was thinking about that and started bobbing her head around - to see if that was even possible I guess!!  :)

At 8:50 this morning (10 minutes before breakfast) Sophie said, "I ready for snack."  I'm thinking she's obviously hungry.  Then she said, "Bode, Kenzie, Riley come - Bode not come in."  So she really was thinking about Snack and not Breakfast.  That's pretty good to have the meal "title" correct.  She always mentions Bode when she's watching the kids walk here from school.  "Bode not come in."  He is such a sweet boy and gives lots of attention to the little ones when he does come in.

I took this first picture yesterday afternoon when Sophie went to the back room with Kenzie to retrieve the Big Bears.  And this is how it ended up!  A First Class ride!  I took the 2nd picture because I thought it was cute how she had one leg resting on the other leg.  Hudson was wanting her to read the book for him, but she had other ideas.  3rd picture - I wanted to get a picture (again) of her ponytail flying.

Sophie - 11/8/2016

Sophie had a bite or two of bagel and ate two servings of apricots for breakfast.  Avilene was kind of squealing in her highchair at breakfast and Sophie said, "Her laughing at me!"  Ha!  For lunch she ate chicken, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and a couple bites of applesauce.  Sophie was SO excited when she noticed I'd (finally!!) added three new pictures of our Babies in the poster.   I actually need to put an updated picture of Sophie up there too!!

Reid and Hudson were building with some blocks and Sophie joined in on their project.  Apparently she assumed the role of supervisor!  Ha!  Reid said, "Her says she's in charge of all this!  She's NOT!"  :)

Well it's about time to post another picture of Lauralea fixing Sophie's hair!  Instead of that I'll post this picture after the hair event and Sophie was bouncing on Lauralea's knee doing their song routines.  I was primarily trying to get a picture of Sophie's hair flying!

Sophie is checking out her fashion statement in the mirror in this next picture.  She asked for help with the head band piece.  After she got it on she said, "I going to a meeting with my Mom and my Grandma."  Hmm...if the choice of clothes are any indication it should be an interesting meeting!

Sophie - 11/2/2016

Sophie ate bite of biscuit and ate peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate baked beans, bite of dinner roll, ate peas, and pineapple.

I took this picture yesterday when Miss Amanda came and sang for the kids and used her puppets as well.  Hudson started howling when she started playing her guitar and that bothered Sophie for a couple of minutes and she came to sit by me.  She soon rejoined Kenzie and Riley and the 4 kids in the 2nd picture loved it.

I was in the lunch room with Avi and Hudson and Sophie had finished breakfast.  She came out and said, "You wanna see it?  It's funny!"  What do you have to show me?  She was putting her baby in the saucer and I took a picture of what she wanted me to see.  Her vocabulary is pretty awesome and I love how well she expresses herself.

Speaking of vocabulary this morning she was talking and used the word "frustrated."  I was impressed.  I asked her, "Who's frustrated?"  She pointed at Bubba and said, "That guy."  LOL!!  Then when I was changing her before nap time she told me I was "silly."  I said, "You're goofy."  She thought for a moment and said, "You're Mickey Mouse; I Goofy."  Isn't that cute?  :)

Sophie - 11/1/2016

Sophie ate a bite or two of waffle and three servings of hash browns.  For lunch she ate chicken & cheese quesadilla, bite of carrots, and mandarin oranges.  After breakfast she was washing her hands and said, "Gary; go night night?"  (9:25)  No, nap time is after lunch.  Ha!  Daddy Pat said she was up early this morning, but she played so well I forgot about that until she was almost through with Lunch and she looked pretty exhausted.  She went to sleep when her head hit the pillow!

Today from 3:30 - 4:00 there is a young lady (Miss Amanda) coming to play her guitar and bring her puppet(s) to entertain the children.  I'm just giving you a heads-up in case someone was going to pick up their child early.  It should be fun and I scheduled it so Kenzie and Riley can be here after school.

Sophie was glad to see Hudson and they played well this morning - with supervision of course!  Ha! I took these pictures after Sophie had worked hard to pull these two benches together and she said, "I hide."  (This was one of Cooper's favorite hiding spots.)  Hudson was invading her hiding spot and they squabbled a bit and I told them to give each other some loves and I captured that with the 2nd picture.  They were also bouncing side-by-side on the mattress and Avilene joined in the fun.

I told Sophie it was fun to see her at Avi's Birthday Party.  She said, "And I loved the cake."  I told her the bumblebee dress was adorable.  She said, "And cute."  Ha!  Then she said, "You open the door!"  I had seen then coming so I went to the door and greeted her.  It was pretty cool that she remembered that!

Reid was not here until after 11:00 and Hudson was mimicking what Reid was saying.  Reid said, "Don't repeat me Bubba!"  Haha!! That was so funny!  Then Reid was trying to be tricky and was perched on a stack of big blocks.  They slipped out from under him and he scooted to the floor in a hurry!  He immediately told Hudson and Sophie: "Don't do that at home cause it would hurt!!"  I was roaring because it was all hilarious!  Reid said, "And it's not funny at all!"  Sorry Reid!  :)
