Sophie ate some oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate a couple bites of tilapia ("I like this fish!" - However, that statement wasn't reflected in the amount she ate!), ate whole wheat noodles, green beans, and applesauce.
Sophie was telling us a long story about being on a trip somewhere. (I love her posture during these important stories...hands on hips!) Here's some of what I heard: "We were at the ....tarium"... I assume planetarium - or some kind of tarium. :) "Momma, Nora, Me, Lila, and Katie." In Missoula? "In Boston."
This first picture was right after breakfast and Sophie was having a little strategy meeting with the girls! Baby Nora was loving it and just giggling. Next picture; Lauralea had some time to hang out with the kids and read to them. As soon as she was done and left for work the kids were immediately asking, "read read read." (Primarily Sophie and Hudson) Just like they hadn't read for a long time!! Ha! Which is awesome! LOVE reading to them!!
Sophie was doing some jumping off the blue balance beam onto the mattress. She was saying, "I do somersault." And she was going off "head-first" and it was cringeworthy!! Landing on her head! Yikes!! So I told her to jump, land on her feet, and then do her somersault. And she totally got what I meant and did it that way! Good job Sophie! We also did some more painting at Art Time. Except we used a brush or at least started out with a brush. Sophie used her brush for maybe 10 seconds and asked, "Can I use my hand?" Ha!

Sophie -3/29/2017
Sophie ate most of breakfast: whole wheat toast and grapes. For lunch she ate bites of pork roast, ate biscuit, carrots from the vegetable mix (carrots, postages, brussel sprouts), and ate fruit salad.
Yesterday afternoon we were playing outside and Sophie was the last one here. She was playing in the sand table and the neighbor's dog started barking. (It's part hound-dog and it's "bark" is more of a howl than a bark.) It frightened her a little bit and she asked, "What was that?!?" The neighbor's dog. "It sound like wolf!!"
My Nephew Steve slept here last night and the Kids saw him for just a few minutes this morning. Earlier, I had told them he was here. Sophie asked, "My Steve!?!" Reid said, "It someone else's Steve!" Haha!! (I liked the "it" part!)
Reid went to the bathroom and was gone for several minutes taking care of business and when he returned he accusingly looked at everyone and inquired of the young group: "Did anyone barf in my chair!?!" Haha! The voice of an experienced Daycare attendee!!
Hudson and Sophie were playing on the couch and pretending to sleep. Sophie got on the floor under the pillow and Hudson said, "Good night Sophie, good night!" Earlier she was singing, "London Bridge" again and he kept chanting/singing in the background; "falling down, falling down." It actually sounded pretty good and blended well together! Ha! (And this time she "allowed" him to sing along with her!!)
Here are a couple more pictures from this morning. Sophie asked if she could do puzzles and then after Lunch, just before Nap Time, she peeled off her jacket and put on a head covering. :)

Sophie - 3/28/2017
Sophie ate whole wheat english muffin and two servings of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch she had a bite or two of chicken with stir fry vegetables, bites of brown rice, and ate oranges.
Here's a picture from yesterday afternoon when Bode walked here with Kenzie and Riley. (Baby Nora was sleeping.) The Daycare kids were thrilled because they hadn't seen any of them for over a week because of Spring Break! (Reid is on his knees in case you think he shrunk or the others grew quickly!!)
Sophie had spotted the Panda Bear in the view finder and she was wanting Hudson to see it. I don't know if he actually saw it, but he's sure looking at the right spot; except his eye may be too far from the toy. I told her there was a Panda Bear in one of the posters on the wall and she looked until she found it! (3rd Picture. ) When she and Bubba were playing on the couch he stood up to bounce and she went into teacher mode! "No Standing up!!" Boy, Hudson immediately sat down! However, she wasn't done! That's the part that cracked me up! "If you want to stand - bounce, go over there!!" She was pointing to the mattress. (That's almost verbatim what I always tell them.)
They also did lots of jumping on the mattress, finger painting at Art Time, and reading books at Story Time. Sophie was also reading to Hudson again and he was singing along with "London Bridge falling down." Sophie wanted him to stop! "No Bubba! You don't sing!!" :)

Sophie - 3/27/2017
Sophie ate some of her breakfast: cheerios and banana. For lunch she had bites of taco salad (with hamburger, lettuce, spinach, tomato, olives - ate her avocados separately), ate pita bread, and two servings of cantaloupe.
Sophie was reading books to Hudson and Avilene and in the 2nd reading picture it looks like Sophie and Avi are discussing the book. "Well good point! I never thought about it from that perspective." I like how their heads are tilted looking at each other.
Hudson had initiated this play and led Sophie right back to where they were playing last week. (She was being the Mommy and had she had him buckled in the car seat and they were going someplace.) She said, "Wait for Mommy." Then she took his hand and was leading him around. Sophie said, "Ready?" Hudson said, "Set, Go!" LOL!! Good one Bubba!!
Sophie was wearing the dress-up clothes for most of the morning. She said, "Hey Gary! Look at me! I'm fancy!" LOL! Yup, you're pretty fancy Sophie and super cute!! She said, "Hey Reid! I'm fancy!" He said, "No. Those are Firefighter shoes." (Same boots she's wearing in the picture above.) Moments later I was tickling Reid and he yelled, "Help me Hofie! Help me!" Sophie came over to the couch where we were playing, looked at Reid and asked, "How do I look Reid?" LOL!! Hmmm...I see a theme here!! Then she said, "I'm gonna sing everyone! Ready guys!?!" Ha! She sang 4 or 5 songs and did great! I'd sing with her for a few seconds if she needed it and she did the rest. ("Twinkle Twinkle, Mary had a Little Lamb, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Old McDonald...")

Sophie - 3/22/2017
Sophie ate most of french toast and no strawberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate several bites of stew (hamburger, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, peppers) ate crackers, and two servings of tropical fruit.
Sophie went poop in the toilet this morning!! Awesome! She told me had to go poop so I got her situated and said I'd be back shortly. She soon yelled that she was done. She was very proud of herself and so was I! When I was getting her dressed she started talking about Ballet and I think I understood most of it. So I asked, "Do you have to go poop in the toilet to go to Ballet?" She said (emphatically), "I JUST DID!! AT GARY'S!!" LOL! Cracked me up!
Some of the things she says are so funny and cute. Yesterday I was fixing her hair and she said, "You're hurting my hair on purpose." Oops. No, I'm really not. Then she said to Hudson, "See my ponytail; am I beautiful?" I told her this morning that I was going to the bathroom. She said, "Ok, I will keep an eye on the kids." Thank you Sophie. She said, "You're welcome Gary." :)
Here are a couple pictures from the morning activities. Sophie was making Avi another Birthday cake with the cones and ice-cream and singing "Happy Birthday" to her. Then she added, "Ok, I'll blow her candles out!" And the girls watched the street cleaner at work as well. We also did some coloring on coffee filters at Art Time and sprayed water on them to watch the colors run. I asked Sophie if she wanted to do Art and she said, "Ok, let's do that." Ha!
Sophie was on the mattress and got all the stuffed animals around her and she started "role playing" with them - doing their talking for them. She was holding them up facing each other; "I'm so happy to see you. You wanna come see my family?" And there was lots more I couldn't quite hear. I took this picture when she was stuffing the little ones in the holes in the steps. I asked her if these were her babies. She said (nodding at the blue one), "That my youngest." :)

Sophie - 3/21/2017
Sophie had a couple bites of breakfast: flat bread and grapes. For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce. After breakfast we had Story Time and we were reading about some animals. It's been quite awhile since we've read this book and I asked Sophie; "What is a baby kangaroo called?" She immediately said, "joey." YUP!! :)
Sophie was doing a Birthday Party for Avilene. (There are cakes in this food set.) She started singing "Happy Birthday to Avi" and soon Hudson started cheering. Sophie scolded him; "Not Yet!! I'm still singing!!" Haha! In the meantime Avi had wandered off so they "blew out her candles" for her. Ha! Sophie plans these elaborate outings (reminds me of Sister Nora) - going to see animals, frequently shopping ("The Target Store and The Food Store"), and Hudson usually plays along with it all. They also did some more "hiding." Hudson was in the igloo and she pretended not to know where he was at and looked first on the other side of the room. Then they switched roles. He went straight to where she was at and she scolded him again (this is a frequent theme), "No Bubba! Look on the other side first!!"
Here's a picture of Sophie in midair after jumping off the balance beam. Just before she jumped she said, "Mom and Dad not help me up here cause I'm not scared up here. :)
Here's a picture of the girls hanging out in the igloo!! This was "Nora's maiden voyage" into that place! Sophie obviously didn't want Nora to leave because when she started to crawl out Sophie grabbed her by the belt loop and hung on. Ha! In the last picture Sophie was rubbing Hudson's back and kept asking, "Is that better, is that better?" Guessing by the dreamy look on his face I'd say yes.

Sophie - 3/20/2017
Sophie ate kix cereal and two servings of mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch she ate turkey burger on bun with tomato and lettuce, ate avocado, and cherry-berry mix. Hey, I'll mention this in the blog so I don't forget to tell you this afternoon; I got the sliver out of Sophie's heel this morning. She was pretty brave - no crying just a bit uncertain about it hurting. It broke in half, but I got both pieces out.
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids liked exploring different and new things! Hudson put on one of the hats and brought one for Sophie to put on; "Hat on Sophie, hat on." Nope, she didn't want to wear a hat. In the 2nd picture you can see Sophie is wearing some dress-up clothes and now it's Hudson's turn to not cooperate with dress-up! And you can see on Sophie's face she's not real happy about it!
But they were soon on another adventure! I love how Sophie has her arm around Hudson in this picture. (And they are back at the same spot!) Sophie was saying, "I have you buckled in." Where are you guys going? She said, "Go to the jungle; dinosaurs there!" Ha! "Ok...we're here...we sneak!" (There are lots of dinosaurs and dinosaurs books in this toy set.) Later, we were reading books and Sophie was in the middle on the couch and had her arm around Hudson on one side and me on the other side. So cute. In one of the books there was a cheetah and she said, "Reido run faster than cheetah!" LOL! I roared! He told us that (many times!) several weeks ago and apparently it made an impression! Love it! Sophie does some pretty elaborate dramatic play and talks nonstop about what they are doing. It's really fun to watch and hear what she's thinking.

Sophie - 3/17/2017
Sophie had several bites of oatmeal and bites of baked apples (with cinnamon and sugar) for breakfast. For lunch she ate some of everything: roast beef, dinner roll, vegetables (carrots, potatoes, brussel sprouts), and two servings of apricots.
Kenzie was here all morning and everyone had lots of fun. Kenzie had the activity level amped up a few degrees, but that was fine because she was including all the kids. I took this picture of Kenzie with Sophie on her back. (In case it's not clear from the picture Kenzie is on her knees! She's not allowed to walk around carrying the kids!) Reid and Kenzie were giving each other "horsey rides" and the little ones wanted rides too.
Reid and Kenzie were jumping on the mattress and talking about "butt bombs." (Landing on their butts in case anyone is not familiar with that technical gymnastics term!!) Sophie wanted to be part of the "butt bomb" conversation and interjected this piece: "When I was a big kid I was jumping on my butt." Haha! Reid said, "You never were a big kid." I love how quickly Kenzie will defend the little ones!! She immediately said; "She's a big kid now!" Good job Kenzie!!
We had a rather lengthy Story Time, did some golf ball Art, and the kids engaged in lots of different activities. I took this last picture of Sophie kissing the "cutest thing ever!" Love that dimple!

Sophie - 3/16/2017
Sophie arrived at 11:00 today so I wasn't going to do a Blog, but I wanted to tell Momma Molly what Reid was saying to Sophie. It took some time for me to figure out what he was talking about!! Sophie had asked me what we were having for Lunch and I gave the Standard answer of "Food!" Reid said, "Gooder than you can imagine Hofie!!" :) Sophie did eat pulled pork sandwich, drank tomato soup, and had two servings of cantaloupe. (I believe the cantaloupe is probably what Reid was making reference to!)
The school kids got out at 11:00 today to start their Spring Break. So right after Sophie arrived, Riley arrived! And this is what that looked like until Lunch at 11:30.

Sophie - 3/15/2017
Sophie ate whole wheat toast and two big servings of mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate meat with sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, taste of spaghetti squash, and ate a large serving of fruit salad. Just an FYI for Mommy & Daddy: She has had a very normal morning and I've not seen any signs from how things were yesterday!
Sophie and Hudson were doing their version of "Ring around the Rosy." When Sophie gets to the "All fall down" line, Hudson apparently is supposed to already be laying on the floor (or mattress). If he needed extra prodding she'd yell, "Fall down Bubba!!" Ha! So he'd flop down whenever she gave him the loud vocal cue! Ha! Went like this: "Ring around the rosy, pocket full of posey, ashes ashes - fall down Bubba - they all fall down!" And she'd stop and wait for him to fall down before she'd complete the last 4 words. Haha!
We read lots of books, sang songs, and did some "dot painting" at Art Time. Sophie was also organizing a party for them. "Come on Bubba and Avi; it's a Party!! I make cake and get candles. Avi get flowers!" I guess Hudson was allowed to just show up!!
Here are some random pictures from this morning: In the first picture Sophie was attending to her Baby Nora and it was so cute because Nora was frequently resting her feet on Avi's head, but by the time I was able to get the camera it never happened again. And the 2nd picture - just Sophie being her cute sweet self. Sophie is under the blanket in the 3rd picture. Again beside Baby Nora. Sophie was pretending to sleep and she'd poke her head out and say, "Hi everyone! I'm awake!"

Sophie - 3/14/2017
Sophie ate scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns for breakfast. For lunch she ate bites of shrimp, brown rice, maybe a bite of stir fry, and ate mixed berries. She said, "I really like your rice Gary." (Lauralea cooked it in chicken broth.)
Sophie and Hudson had lots of fun being silly and playing with minimal conflicts! (I'm sure they'll make up for it later! Ha!) This morning before anyone arrived Hudson was asking, "Sophie coming, Sophie coming?" My answer: I think she got home. He said, "Boston, Boston." :) Sophie apparently rolled off the mattress and said, "I rolled off the mattress Gary." Oh! "Want me to show you?" Haha! Yes please. So she did a replay.
Everyone was happy to see Sophie back from her Boston trip. (Maybe Lauralea and I the most!! Ha!) Lauralea was bouncing Sophie and then bouncing Avi and singing their songs. One of which is "Oh here we go to Boston, to Boston, to Boston.." Avi wanted to keep doing it and when Lauralea stopped she said, "Bos-son, Bos-son." :) Lauralea and I both loved it! See Hudson on the right side of the picture - that's as close as he wants to this activity. Haha! No bouncing on the knee for him!
Here's a story from yesterday afternoon at Little Treasures that is not about Sophie, but I thought you might still enjoy. The kids say and do some of the most humorous things and I LOVE that about my work! Riley was sick at home and so it was just Kenzie coming after school. Hudson loves Riley and he kept repeating, repeating, repeating, and repeating; "RiRi sick, RiRi sick, RiRi sick!?" "RiRi not coming? RiRi not coming? RiRi not coming?" Finally Reid had all he could stand and (quite agitated) said, "She NEVER coming! Ha! (That did not deter Hudson one bit!) :)
I guess Sophie forgot how much Avilene does NOT like to be directed around; especially physically directed and especially not by the kids!! Haha! Look at that face! Sophie said, "Avi sad at me." Ha!! Yup. She didn't like that very much did she? I love how Sophie was trying to make it all better. (By hugging Avi some more - which was essentially just restraining her some more.) :) Avi was ready to shout; "Enough Already!!" So cute.
